No BS, just good food.

IZY FOOK (一起福), a new modern Singaporean Izakaya restaurant in partnership with radio and TV personality Sonia Chew, has officially launched in Singapore. Located in the heart of Chinatown, the new celebrity and PMED bar and restaurant is the place to be for delicious food, beautiful decor, and great music.

THE IZY FOOK【一起福】STORY

IZY was an urban contemporary Izakaya Bar serving quality Japanese fare to young working professionals on Club Street. In her 2019 revamp, IZY FOOK aims to provide top Singaporean dishes alongside key Cantonese delights in a newly renovated space that’s edgy and bold – a cool new hangout spot.

Together, IZY FOOK (一起福), that cheekily translates to “together, let’s prosper” is a no BS, hip Japanese kitchen inspired by old school Singapore Cantonese restaurants and the energy of late night Chinatown watering holes back in 1970s Singapore. IZY FOOK takes a creative approach towards incorporating roasted and charred Cantonese meats into quality, classic Izakaya dishes.

The “Living Room” occupies the front portion of the restaurant and showcases a series of brand new art pieces from Hong Kong’s hottest illustrator, Jonathan Jay Lee. The "Living Room" also contains a long, open bar where diners can grab quick drinks or bottles of wine and sake alongside sharing plates of modern Singaporean izakaya fare, accompanied by hip-hop and R&B tracks.

The “Dining Hall” hidden at the back of the restaurant accommodates up to 50 people and has a private dining VIP room that retains Izy’s original vintage pop art. Coupled with great music and dimmed lights, it creates an intimate yet lively and boisterous atmosphere.

IZY FOOK is best enjoyed with an overbearing love for life, an adventurous appetite for real food, and an open mind.

THE PARTNERSHIP

Sonia Chew is a radio and TV presenter, events/travel host and digital content creator. She’s become a familiar face over the years, and continues to grow her popularity with her inimitable style and personality. Sonia is also the host of award winning programs like “Travel SSBD”, that clinched the Gold award for Best Online Entertainment Program at the 2016 New York Festivals.

Her edgy and bold personality has landed her endorsements with brands like PUMA and Tag Heuer in 2019. She has also been handpicked to host the National Day Parade for the second consecutive year. Sonia continues to push boundaries and take on new projects such as this new partnership with IZY FOOK.

“When I started out on this venture, the most important thing was to create a cool new hangout spot that we can vibe with in every way – the ambience, the food and drinks, and the music. Protecting Singaporean hawker culture is also a key focus for us. This partnership marks my very first foray into F&B! It really is quite a reflection of my personality. IZY FOOK is not just a restaurant. It’s an experience – one that I cannot wait for you to dive into.”

As the doors opened at 7pm, guests were served IZY FOOK’s house specialty: Char Siew and Roast Pork in steamed buns, paired with their signature cocktails, sake, and more.

The restaurant was bustling with 300 invited guests, mainly friends from the media, entertainment, finance, and F&B sectors. Other guests included personalities from high society, professional basketballers from Singapore Slingers, and artistes like Julie Tan, Tay Ying, Benjamin Josiah and Dawn Yang.
