This August, the well established Indonesian chain Potato Head marks its 5th year in Singapore. Always striving to take a conscious and sustainable approach in everything they do, it is significant to celebrate this milestone for the brand, especially in Singapore's thriving and competitive F&B scene today. Hence, to commemorate this momentous occasion, the food and lifestyle brand will be mobilising 500 volunteers for a beach clean-up at East Coast Park on 24 August 2019, as well as throwing a birthday bash for its customers on 29 August 2019.
Potato Head gives back to the environment by Doing Good
Living up to their motto and being the advocate of sustainability, their efforts can be seen from the careful construction of their venues across different cities using upcycled materials and furniture, to the sustainable materials for its clothing merchandise, and are currently experimenting to make sustainable structures for its next hotel with Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. In addition, they have launched their first official zero-waste restaurant in Potato Head Beach Club Bali.
Their belief - that sustainability is not only about the environment but how one lives, works, eats and plays, is brought forward in its 5th anniversary celebration in Singapore. In collaboration with Seven Clean Seas, Potato Head will be gathering 500 volunteers in hopes of clearing up 5 tonnes of trash along the coastline of East Coast Park on 24 August 2019. Besides providing a good time, they wish to give back to the environment and community for the warmth and success they have experienced in this little red dot by helping to rid the beach of waste. The family-friendly event will be filled with fantastic music and fun, and will run from 9am to 12noon and is open to the public. Interested volunteers can sign up here.
Potato Head provides Good Times with a birthday bash
Avid fans of Potato Head rejoice as the restaurant will be throwing one of its biggest parties on 29 August at its iconic four-level art deco shophouse on 36 Keong Saik Road. Doors open at 5pm and the first 50 diners will receive a gift voucher that enables redemption of burgers at only $5++. Diners can start the evening on the second level of the restaurant with its quirky decor, where the walls are hand-painted with birds, butterflies and flowers. Colourful bunting hangs from the ceiling to set the party mood. After dinner, feel free to move up to Studio 1939 for a more intimate setting where plush leather seats lend cosy conversations. Finally, enter level four where Potato Head unveils its newly renovated alfresco rooftop bar featuring lush plants and herbs, reminiscent of its iconic outlet in Bali - a perfect tropical setting with a backdrop of a picturesque sunset and sounds from international guest DJs.
As part of its birthday celebration, Potato Head is excited to invite renowned DJ Neil Diablo of Manchester's El Diablo's Social Club and High Emotion as he takes his signature blend of leftfield house and spirit-lifting disco to the roof alongside Potato Head Singapore's Resident DJ Matty Wainwright.
To round off the festivities, Potato Head will be offering shots to all diners in the restaurant as they enjoy the refreshed menu and a night unlike any other.
